Sylvia Bennett FSSA
Sylvia Bennett has a special flair for effectively transposing traditional Feng Shui into the context of contemporary lifestyle, whilst retaining its authentic foundation. She has a dedicated passion for her work and for her clients’ success, which is why her consulting focuses on caring about you just as much as your property and the environment that surrounds it. Sylvia's reputation as an accomplished consultant has been gained through her conscientious integrity, professional manner, extensive expertise and the exceptional personal support she gives to every client. She lives in London and works throughout the UK and Europe, internationally in Dubai, USA and further afield.
Sylvia has two decades of experience as an accredited traditional Feng Shui consultant and is an Honorary Life Fellow of the Feng Shui Society. She is an affiliate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Landscape Institute, also a qualified designer and subtle environment surveyor. Before establishing Feng Shui Living in 1994, Sylvia learned the key fundamentals during ten years when working in Hong Kong. Recognising the far-reaching value of classical Feng Shui, Sylvia then undertook extensive studies with three eminent Chinese Feng Shui masters, Yap Cheng Hai, Joseph Yu and Peter Leung. Today in her practice, she applies those teachings that proved to be consistently effective.
Professional qualifications in interior design, environmental practice and natural healthcare including counselling, nutrition, colour therapeutics and aromatherapy, combined with her former commercial career background in fashion, textiles, hotel management and property development, contribute valuable knowledge to extend Sylvia’s expertise. Her sensible, practical approach, versatile skills and leading-edge professional experience enable her to provide an unbeatable, truly comprehensive specialist service. She is fully insured and registered with several respected professional organisations. See Credentials
Regularly commissioned to participate in commercial projects, Sylvia’s corporate expertise notably includes providing Feng Shui guidelines for London’s Earls Court urban redevelopment master plan landscaping; as a steering group participant in the recent British Building Research Establishment (BRE) project that provides revolutionary guidelines for including well being factors in architecture, design and retro-construction for offices; having direct involvement in the initial urban planning concept for the regeneration of Plymouth town centre as a Plymouth Architectural Trust committee member.
Presentations & Blog
Having lectured at the University of Westminster Built Environment Faculty and at the Royal Society of Medicine, Sylvia really enjoys presenting talks, seminars and workshops on Feng Shui and its associated disciplines to professional groups and the public. Her writing skills led to her being the Feng Shui columnist for a European property publication for several years and consultant author for a Russian Feng Shui publication. Her consulting work features in the national press, CNN, BBC and international lifestyle magazines.
As there are already myriads of Feng Shui blogs out there, she has decided to focus her own Blog Page on current environmental situations that make an impact on the lives of individuals and that in some ways have a connection with the principles of Feng Shui.
