Environmental Aesthetics
Environmental aesthetics is more than design. It is a 'revolutionary' holistic approach to workspace and residential living space. It is about how a place feels as well as how it appears to look. It considers people's wellbeing in a given space, both interior or exterior, as its primary objective. Its priorities are how well you will feel, thrive and flourish in your close built environment; how you instinctively respond at a sub-consciouss level and acknowledging inbuilt senses that have governed our lives ever since hunter-gatherer times.
Does the entrance area feel uplifting, safe and embracing. Will people sleep well in the bedroom? Are the toilets safely positioned and in a suitable location? Will your office personnel achieve their best performance, feel happy and have strong corporate loyalty? Will children be healthy and successful in their studies? Is the approach to your building supportive or draining? The proven eco-benefits of bringing plants into office surroundings and domestic settings. The choice of colours that makes full use of their vibrational frequencies to create the most supportive, harmonious or productive atmosphere in a room. Awareness of the innate responses of our five senses. All these factors contribute to the practical and effective use of environmental aesthetics when working with feng shui design for individual clients or with their architects, specifiers and space planners.
Feng Shui Design
Feng shui design is now seriously sought after to transform and energise living and working environments. Its unique influence stems from a harmoniously well-balanced, stylish use of natural elements and the creation of a distinct subtle feeling that reflects a sense of natural rhythm and space. The overall effect is a pleasingly healthy sense of personal wellbeing and emotional contentment.
Sylvia has an interior design diploma and she is an Affiliate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Her specialism is conceptual design, interior and landscape styling. She has formed successful relationships with practicing architects, working with them on behalf of her clients to incorporate the best feng shui features into their renovation, restoration, extensions and new-build projects for residential properties, commercial buildings, gardens and urban design.
She has helped many clients in the UK and overseas by assisting them in the development of their structural work and in the re-design of interior and exterior space. It is not unusual for her to work consistently on her clients’ plans as they evolve from conception to completion, incorporating sound feng shui principles, optimum locations and positive placement of key features, including doors, main rooms, beds, stairs, toilets, kitchen layout and appliances, also innovative storage solutions and the use of beautiful natural materials within the design.
Fees are either based on a single consultation or, where more appropriate, they are charged on an agreed time basis for each stage of the project. If you are about to embark on, or have commenced a project, Sylvia will be very happy to hear from you and she will be able to give you a more comprehensive explanation of the work services that she can offer you.
